Rotate PDF pages free
Fix sideways or upside-down PDF scans in seconds. ToolCrix rotates the pages and saves the corrected file in your browser — no upload and no software needed, so the fix is safe even for confidential scans.
How to do it
- Add your PDF above.
- Choose the rotation — 90° clockwise, 90° counter-clockwise, or 180° for upside-down pages.
- Download the corrected PDF.
Why viewer rotation isn't enough
Every PDF viewer has a rotate button, but it only spins the page on your screen — the file itself is unchanged, so the person you email it to still opens a sideways document. This tool writes the rotation into each page's metadata inside the PDF, which every reader (Acrobat, Preview, browsers, phones) respects. Once saved, the document opens the right way up everywhere, forever.
Where sideways pages come from
The usual culprits: sheet-fed scanners that pull landscape pages through in portrait orientation; office copiers that scan double-sided stacks with alternating flips; phone-camera scans taken with the device rotated; and spreadsheet or slide exports that land in a portrait document. Mixed files are common — a report where only the landscape charts are sideways — and rotating just the affected pages keeps the rest untouched. Fixing this at the file level once beats every future reader tilting their head or hunting for the viewer's rotate button.
Lossless by design
Rotation only edits a page attribute; nothing is re-rendered or re-compressed. Text remains selectable and searchable, image quality is untouched, and the file size stays essentially identical. You can rotate the same file again later with no cumulative quality cost. That also means rotation is completely reversible: apply the opposite rotation and the page is back exactly where it started.
Rotate, then keep working
Orientation fixes usually come first in a longer clean-up: rotate the sideways scans, then delete the blank duplex pages, merge the batch into one file and compress it for email. Because each ToolCrix tool outputs a normal PDF and runs in the same browser tab, you can chain those steps in a minute or two without installing anything — and the document never leaves your machine at any stage.
Frequently asked questions
Does the rotation stay when I share the file? Yes — ToolCrix saves the rotation into the PDF itself, so it opens correctly in Acrobat, Preview, browsers and on phones, not just on your screen.
Can I rotate only some pages? Yes — ToolCrix lets you rotate the whole document or just the specific pages that are sideways, which is ideal for reports with landscape charts.
Which direction do I need for an upside-down scan? Choose 180° in ToolCrix; 90° clockwise or counter-clockwise handles pages lying on their side.
Does rotating a PDF reduce its quality or grow the file? No — ToolCrix only updates each page's rotation attribute; nothing is re-rendered, so quality and file size are unchanged.
Is my document uploaded while rotating? No — the ToolCrix rotator runs entirely in your browser, so scans of contracts or IDs never leave your device.
